Wednesday April 25th, 2012. Hi Professor Oberman, I tried to email you this morning but your lavc email was returned, do you have another one? Please let me know. Not a bad day today, just getting busy with 4 weeks left of school though, a lot of work to do during this time, but it will be well worth it. Just got home, gonna grab some grub, so until tomorrow, bye.

:Although 1984 and Ella Minnow Pea are quite different in tone and style, they share remarkable similarities in theme. The following themes are prominent in both works:

individualism language power/totalitarianism thought
Your assignment will be to select one major theme expressed in each work and write a paper comparing how each author explores that theme in his novel.
WRITING ASSIGNMENT
After reading, write a carefully reasoned essay in which you select one of the themes listed above and compare how the two authors explore and illustrate this theme in their respective works. You should support your thesis with specific examples from each text.
Your essay should contain the following elements:
• a thesis that indicates what the authors are trying to say about your selected theme
• at least 3 examples from the texts which support your selected theme
Last day to Blog is the 30th. You should have around 45 blogs.
